Pearl H. Buck - 11/12/2002 Pearl H. Buck - 11/12/2002 PEARL H. BUCK IONA, ID -- Pearl Harriet Davies Buck, 87, of Iona, died November 11, 2002, at her home. She was born March 23, 1915, at Sugar House, Utah, to Charles Henry Davies and Harriet Hodgson Davies. When she was a year old the family moved to Plano, where she grew up and attended schools. She graduated from Edmunds High School. She married John Desmond “Des” Buck January 16, 1940, in Dillon, Montana. On July 19, 1956, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Iona most of their married life, where she has been a homemaker and mother. Over the years she has also lived in Menan, San Diego, Las Vegas and Idaho Falls. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Sunday School, MIA, Primary, the Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher. She served as Captain and Treasurer in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed reading, quilting, family activities, genealogy, sporting events, singing in the Trionaires and travel. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Iona LDS 5th Ward (Iona Rd. and Ririe Hwy), with Bishop Mike Long officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:30 til 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road) and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
