Paulette Thomas

Paulette Gilchrist Thomas, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 15, 2011, at her home of natural causes. Paulette was born June 18, 1948, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Neil (J) Gilchrist and Phoebe Ruth Davids Gilchrist. She grew up in Ammon with her two sisters and her brother and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1966. Paulette married James Ernest Thomas August 6, 1969, and they raised their family in Idaho Falls. She worked as a mail handler and clerk for the US Postal Service for 33 years. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years, including Gospel Doctrine Teacher and Librarian. Paulette dedicated her life to her family. She loved being with her grandchildren, Jeramie Thomas, Kenadee Titland, Logan Thomas, and Ethan Thomas, visiting with her church friends, and was always up for a good garage sale. She loved watching movies, spending time in her garden, and was generous to a fault. Paulette will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, brother, co-workers, and friends. Her family is comforted to know that she is free from pain and worry and is now in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and having a special reunion with her loved ones that have gone before. Survivors include: Son: Brett (Tina) Thomas of Boise, ID Daughter: Misty (Dave) Titland of Idaho Falls, ID Son: James Ernest Neil Thomas of Williston, ND Sister: Patricia (Jerry) McCoy of St. Anthony, ID Sister: Jacqueline (Patrick) Morgan of Kennewick, WA Brother: Neil (LouAnn) Gilchrist of Kirksville, MO 4 Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Michael Hays officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Chesterfield Cemetery.
