Paul Dennis Wilkinson

Paul Dennis Wilkinson, 74, of Shelley, returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 20, 2025.

Paul was born March 2, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Albert Wilkinson and Jeanette Elmina Twitchel Wilkinson. He was the youngest of five boys. As he was growing up, he worked and helped his parents on the family farm in the Goshen Area. He attended Firth Elementary and Firth High School.

In October of 1975, he married Lorna Faye Youngstrom in Idaho Falls. They made their home in Shelley, Idaho. They were married for 50 plus years, and through their union, had two children, Clinton Lee and Lindsey Rae.

On April 1, 1980, they bought the old family farm, and in 1982, after extensive remodeling, they moved out there where Paul and his family resided till the time of his passing.

Paul was a dedicated farm boy his whole life. He loved working the ground and watching his crops grow and taking care of his cattle.

Besides farming, Paul worked at the R.T. French Company, the Pillsbury Company, and Basic American Foods in Shelley for 38 years.

He retired from Basic American Foods in 2012, and in 2015, retired from farming due to health reasons.

Paul’s favorite past times were camping, hunting, fishing, and riding with family through the mountains in his side by side.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Paul is survived by his wife, Lorna Faye Wilkinson of Shelley, ID; son, Clinton (Tiffany) Wilkinson of Rigby, ID; daughter, Lindsey (Ryan) Soucie of Shelley, ID; brother, Gary (Rosella) Wilkinson of Shelley, ID; brother, Dwight (Colleen) Wilkinson of Idaho Falls, ID; and 8 grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jeanette Wilkinson; two brothers, Don and Jerry Wilkinson; and his daughter, Jenny Lynn Staples.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
