Paul Waggoner

Paul Marlin Waggoner, Sr., of Idaho Falls, passed away August 23, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born September 3, 1936, in Urbana, Missouri, to George A. Waggoner and May (Johnson) Waggoner. He grew up in Missouri and Wyoming.

In June 1957, he married Doris (Short) McGary in Worland, Wyoming. They were later divorced. On June 30, 1997, he married Karen R (Ferguson) Waggoner in Elko, Nevada. Paul and Karen made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he retired after 30 years from Monroc, Inc.

Paul had a Bachelor’s Degree in the school of hard knocks. His saying was, "If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit."

He was baptized Baptist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, yard work and visiting with the world. He knew no stranger. He had a great love for his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Karen Waggoner of Idaho Falls; four sons, Paul M Waggoner, Jr. of Idaho Falls, Ronald (Wanda) Waggoner of Idaho Falls, George (Jo) Waggoner of Carlin, NV, and Steven (Alyssa) Waggoner of Idaho Falls; one four-legged son, Bengy; three daughters, Kathy Waggoner of Idaho Falls, Julie Stauffer of Idaho Falls, and Lori (Norman) Harada of Medical Lake, WA; 22 grandchildren, 9 four-legged grandkids and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and two daughters.

A memorial gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4900 S. Yellowstone Highway in Idaho Falls.
