Patricia "Patty" (Scheer) Stewart

Patricia Jean Stewart (Scheer), of Idaho Falls passed away March 16th, 2025, in Shoreline, Washington while undergoing hospice care. She was 81 years old and had celebrated her birthday the prior week.

Patty was born on March 10,1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Frank and Margaret Scheer at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was one of eleven siblings. She attended Idaho Falls High School and graduated there in 1962. She worked as a waitress for many years at the Westbank and Ada's, as machine operator and sample chaser at French's / Pillsbury / Basic American Plant in Shelly.

In 1962, she was married to Steven Leavitt. They had two children, a son, Rori and a daughter, Jody. They later separated but remained close. In 1986, she married Larry Stewart, where she gained two stepdaughters, Tracy and Amanda. Her husband Larry passed in 2022 from COVID related issues.

Patty loved doing many things! She loved potlucks at church and at the plant in Shelly, making blankets and other crafts for friends and family, camping, and listening to her nephews play the drums in local bands.

She was also a very giving person, helping friends and family when times were tough. One of the things that Patty was most proud of was when she bought her home in the early 70s. She made the down payment by doing the painting herself.

What was most important to her was the day she met Jesus. The relationship she had with her Lord carried her through many joyful and hard times. At the end she was ready for the next chapter in her journey. To be reunited with friends and family, and to dance with the angels. She will be missed by all that knew her, we will all meet again.

Patty is survived by one sister, Netty (Georgia); son, Rori (Arlene) Leavitt of Shoreline, WA; daughter, Jody (John) Altieri of Brentwood, CA; stepdaughter, Tracy (Brian) Yorker of Kent, WA; stepdaughter, Amanda (Thomas Jr.) Aldrich of Covington, LA; grandchildren, Felicia Leavitt, April Huerta, Myranda Castillo, Brandon Yorker, Jacob Leavitt, Jessica Aldrich, Amanda Walker, Ian Westley Yorker, Jassmine Aldrich, Kennedy Kerins, and Joshua Aldrich; as well as nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nine of her siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 9:30 – 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N Ridge Ave, Idaho Falls. She will be interned with her mom at Rose Hill Cemetery.
