Patricia Ann Kishiyama, 62, of Idaho Falls, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2014, due to complications related to cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving husband, daughters and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed, but her family is comforted knowing she is in the presence of the Lord feasting and dwelling in the place He has prepared for her.
Patricia was born October 24, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lloyd Dale Kunard and Lucille Campbell Kunard. She often recalled, with fondness, memories of her childhood, including time spent with her siblings and the special relationship she had with her Aunt Rae. She attended Linden Park Elementary, Clair E. Gale Junior High School, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She loved the wilderness of Southeastern Idaho, and every summer you could count on her picking huckleberries, chokecherries and watercress. In the fall, she looked forward to going on scenic drives with Victor to see the leaves changing colors.
On May 15, 1971, she married the love of her life, Victor Kishiyama in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born two daughters, Stacy and Sasha’. Patricia and Victor made their home in Idaho Falls, where Patricia worked as a waitress, bookkeeper, receptionist and administrative assistant. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her longsuffering and love for the Lord was an inspiration to everyone.
Patricia was a member of Watersprings Church (Calvary Chapel). She loved attending the women’s Bible study and often spoke affectionately of her sisters in Christ. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, skiing and camping. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Victor Kishiyama of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Stacy (Matt) Smith of Smartsville, CA;
daughter, Sasha’ (Ren) Hardy of Lehi, UTbrother, Dale Kunard of Lexington, KY;
sister, Suzette Kunard of Idaho Falls, ID;
sister, Luana Kunard of Idaho Falls, ID;
and five grandchildren: Austin Smith, Morgan Smith, Mia Smith, Rebecca Smith and Krew Hardy.
Although she endured immense pain and suffering, her faith and trust in the Lord never wavered. In fact, her faith and trust increased and she experienced the peace and joy that only comes from the Lord. She was a witness of God’s grace and mercy to those who knew her.
