Patricia Ann (Kedney) Vrooman

Patricia Ann Vrooman, 70, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away peacefully, May 31, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Patricia was born January 3, 1953, in Port Chester, New York, to John Kedney and Adamarie Waitszier Kedney. Her family owned a luncheonette in Rye, New York, where Patricia first learned responsibility through helping others. She grew up and attended schools in Rye and graduated from Rye High School in 1971.

On February 14, 1988, she married LeRoy Vrooman in New York. Patricia and LeRoy made their home in Poughkeepsie, New York, where Patricia was a manager at a women’s shelter. She helped so many people in need while working at the shelter. Supporting and improving the lives of women and children were always driving forces in her life.

She lived in many places, but Poughkeepsie, New York, was where she called home. Later in life, Patricia also lived in Florida, Arizona, and more recently in Idaho. In each place, she always found friends and ways to help others.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Patricia loved word games, coloring, bingo, and most of all, her family.

Patricia is survived by her loving children, Thomas (Carmen) Kennedy of Rigby, ID, Michael (Miranda) Kennedy of Poughkeepsie, NY, Brian Kennedy of NY, and Scott Vrooman of NY; sister, Bonnie (Bill) Coolum of Arizona; a niece, Andrea Coolum Kinsey of North Dakota; and a nephew, Tim Coolum of Massachusetts; brother, John Kedney of New York; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, LeRoy Vrooman.

Services will be held privately with family.
