Parke Elwin Josephson, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 15, 2016, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Parke was born November 12, 1938, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Elwin Bengt Josephson and Isa Ada Parke Josephson. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from Shelley High School.
On August 23, 1957, he married Sharron LaDee Wright in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, LDS Temple. To this union were born five children, Debbie, Darren, Susan, Lori, and Beverly. Parke and Sharron made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Parke worked as an insurance salesman for 38 years where he helped many people.
He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He loved his family and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his cabin on Bill’s Island in Island Park. He built several cabins. He was a skilled meat cutter and loved to give meat to others. He also enjoyed photography and travel.
Parke is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharron Josephson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Debbie Ann (Norman) Funke of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Darren E (Jacque) Josephson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Susan Kay (Gregory) Acosta of Anaheim, CA; daughter, Lori (Alan) Leask of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Beverly Laila (Marshall) Holtom of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Margo (Benny) Billman of Shelley, ID; sister, Connie (Gary) Longhurst of Shelley, ID; sister, Jolene (Gordon) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwin Bengt Josephson, mother, Isa Ada Josephson, and his sister, Sydney Ann Bradshaw.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2016, at Ammon LDS 23rd Ward, 4030 John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Chad Murdock officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
