Pamela ""Pamie"" Panker

On September 11, 2010, our dear sister Pamela Ann Panker “Pamie” passed away from smoking. She was 63. Pam was a sweet girl with a sunny disposition. She grew up in Illahee, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and Hawaii; she lived in Hawaii for 35 years. Pam came to Idaho Falls in 2008 to be near her aunt and sister. She brought with her a favorite friend “Gizmo,” her little Shih-Tzu. Gizmo will now be at home with Pam’s sister and “KT.” Pam found a wonderful friend in Idaho Falls, her neighbor Donna. Pam and Donna took many long walks with their dogs and had many fireside chats that meant so much to Pam. Pam has a brother and a sister-in-law in Seattle, cousins in Boise and Moscow, her dear friend Jim in California, and her friend for 46 years, Sally in Hawaii. Pam worked as a nurses’ aide at Kaiser for 17 years and loved her job. She was patient, kind, and caring. Pam was very artistic and always had a project going. She shared her art with others on special occasions and her gifts were always beautiful. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking big casseroles for get-togethers. Pam camped, hiked, kayaked, biked, shopped, and cared for her lovebirds, cats, and dog with her whole heart. She couldn’t hold on to a dollar, but she always held on to her sense of humor. Pam was smart, creative, funny and generous. We will miss her very much. We never dreamed she’d leave us so soon. She and her family appreciate all the wonderful care she received from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center – the ER and the ICU, floors 4, 5, 6, Emergency Transit and Life Care Center. Pam’s ashes will be scattered in Hawaii. She will join her beloved father, aunt, grandma, grandpa, uncle, and cousin in heaven – where there will be lots of laughter.
