Click Here To View Memorial Video On August 18, 2014, Orval D Simpson died of natural causes at his home. He left this life surrounded by his loved ones. Orval was born on December 11, 1927, to Clyde Simpson and Janet Dahle, at the family home in Weston, Idaho. Orval was well educated, obtaining a masters degree in nuclear physics. He was renowned for his accomplishments professionally. Orval worked for the INL for 35 years and held many patents that are still used today. He loved to serve the Lord through callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held callings as a Bishop, a temple worker for 20 years, and was called as a Seventy to serve in missionary work. On September 8, 1948, Orval married Lora Jean Winger in the Salt Lake City Temple. Orval and his wife, Jean, served a full time mission in Toronto, Canada. One of his great passions was family history. Orval considered his greatest blessing to be his wife and family, and loved spending time with them. Many hours were enjoyed doing family activities such as snow and water skiing, camping, boating and motorbiking. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lora Jean Winger Simpson, daughter, Lynne (Val) Killian of Lindon, UT; daughter, Janet (Neil) Liester of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Craig (Margaret) Simpson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Wayne (Deanna) Simpson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Phil (Trudi) Simpson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Stratford Simpson of Logan, UT; brother, Thad (Marjean) Simpson of Ogden, UT; sister, Carolyn (Joel) LaPray of Idaho Falls, ID; 23 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Conrad Simpson, a sister in-law, Carol Simpson and a sister in-law, Bobbie Simpson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center (1155 1st Street) with Ferrol B. Simpson officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.

Ridge Ave. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
