ORRIN MYLER, JR. IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Orrin Monroe Myler Jr., 91, passed away February 14, 2009, at his home. He was born February 5, 1918, to Orrin Monroe Myler, Sr. and Mary Boyce Walker Myler in Dubois, Idaho. Orrin was the only son of nine children. He had four older sisters and four younger sisters. The family lived on Camas Creek and moved to Osgood when Orrin was five years old. In 1926 they moved to Idaho Falls. Orrin married Ora Faye Terry on May 20, 1941. They were later divorced. They had six children. He was a sheet metal worker. During World War II, he worked in the shipyard. After the war, he returned to Idaho Falls, where he worked as a sheet metal worker and taught sheet metal apprenticeship classes. On June 19, 1968, Orrin was elected the Business agent for the Sheet Metal Local 60 Union. He was a business agent until his retirement in 1983. Orrin enjoyed farming and had a farm in Ammon before he moved to the farm in Wapello. He had a passion for horses and was always taking some horseback riding trip with family and friends, camping and fishing with his father Orrin Sr., and later with his children and grandchildren. Orrin also enjoyed taking his family to visit with his sisters. Orrin later married Raola Landon Beckstead on October 29, 1983. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple November 1, 1985. Orrin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as the Sunday School President, in the Stake Presidency, as a Seventy, and also in the Stake Mission Presidency. He is survived by his wife, Raola of Wapello, Daughter, Margaret (Myler) Hess of N. Ogden, UT; Daughter, Marilyn (Victor) Hasfurther of St. George, UT; Son, Don Myler of Bellevue, WA; Daughter, Denise Myler of Ammon, ID; Son, Lyle (Alesa) Myler of Casper, WY; Step-Son, Terry (Paulette) Beckstead of Salt Lake City, UT; Step-daughter, Bretta (Marvin) Weatherholz of San Antonio, TX; Step-son, Harold ( Brenda) Beckstead of Idaho Falls, ID; Stepdaughter, Renae Beckstead Lane of Boise, ID; Step-son, Shane (Lynne) Beckstead of Idaho Falls, ID; Step-son, Orin (Jackie) Beckstead of Boise, ID Sister, Sarah Grover, Rexburg, ID; Sister, Joy (Darryl) Hinckley, Idaho Falls, ID; 24 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren. Orrin was preceded in death by his son, Robert, and his parents and 6 sisters. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the Blackfoot LDS Wapello 1st Ward, 337 North 200 East, with Bishop Charles Dansie officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
