OPAL JAYNES
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Opal Lillie Jaynes, 86, of Idaho Falls,
died September 19, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following
a stroke.
She was born August 8, 1918, in Soda Springs, Idaho,
to Albert Byron Deaton and Ona Lillie Ballard Deaton. She grew up and
attended schools in Soda Springs and graduated from high school there.
She then attended Holy Cross Nursing School and St. Mary's of the Wasatch
to obtain her Associates Degree as a Registered Nurse.
She married Guy Jaynes August 16, 1941, in Evanston,
Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized February 15, 1960, in the Idaho
Falls LDS Temple. She lived in Idaho Falls for over 30 years and a short
time in Grass Valley, California and Fort Bragg, California. She was a
homemaker and mother and also worked as a Registered Nurse at the Idaho
Falls LDS Hospital.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. She enjoyed painting and gardening.

Daughter: Shannon (Jerry) Backlund, Dewey, AZ
Sister: Blanch Glover, Ogden, UT
6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melodi Backlund Spurgeon.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September
22, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Kearney 1st Ward, 1860 Kearney Street,
with Bishop Brent Moore officiating.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday for one
hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under
the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
