OMA M. JONES
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Oma McOmber Jones, 89, of Idaho Falls, died January 20, 2009, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehabilitation of heart failure.
She was born December 9, 1919, in Marysville, Idaho, to Charles Ray McOmber and Vadis Baum McOmber. She grew up in St. Anthony and Driggs and graduated from Victor High School.
She married Don Fay Jones December 9, 1938, in Victor, Idaho. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1941, where she has lived ever since. She was a homemaker and mother and also owned the Ross Hotel for six years. In her youth she worked at the Sugar Factory and later owned Skyline and Village Markets with Don. Don passed away May 9, 1996.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading and loved houseplants. In her younger years she loved to fish.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Connie Fay Hiatt, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Douglas Don Jones, Haslett, TX
Brother: Darrel McOmber, Bend, OR
Brother: Gary McOmber, Nampa, ID
7 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, Wayne Hiatt, a brother, Orin McOmber, and a sister, Lois Blanchard.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln 1st Ward, 3700 East Lincoln Road, with Bishop Chris Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

Your mom and dad were good neighbors, and good friends.Your mom gave me a plant start a couple years ago, and it is getting bigger everyday. She did love her plants. I'm sorry for her passing.
