Odetta Crow Sessions, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 29, 2015, at Morningstar Senior Living Center. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Odetta was born November 24, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Walter Newton Crow and Margaret Vilate Allen Crow. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. She worked for Mountain Bell telephone company for a couple years.
On June 28, 1958, she married Roy Dale Sessions in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They raised a family of seven children, Bryan, Lynette, Jolene, Eric, Lorraine, Arlen, and Nolan. Odetta and Roy made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Odetta was a homemaker. Roy passed away on July 25, 1989.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings including as a temple worker and ward librarian. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, crochet, quilting, and gardening.
Odetta is survived by her
son, Bryan (Suzette) Sessions of UT;
daughter, Lynette Sessions of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Eric (McCall) Sessions of Cypress, TX;
daughter, Lorraine (Nathan) Curtis of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Arlen (Judy) O'Brien of Salmon, ID;
sister, Elsie Owens of Ammon, ID.
15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Walter and Vilate Crow, a daughter, Jolene Sessions, and a son, Nolan Sessions.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Stanger officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
