Odell Mclain

Forrest Odell McLain, 72, of Ririe, Idaho, passed away December 31, 2016, at The Hospice House of Eastern Idaho, surrounded by his family. Odell was born December 6, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Willis Leon McLain and Marguerite Elizabeth White McLain. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving Middle School and graduated from Pocatello High School. He worked as a railroad machinist. Odell served in the United States Air Force. On June 28, 1998, he married Carol Cluff McLain in Idaho Falls. Odell and Carol made their home in Ririe, Idaho. Odell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a High Priest. He enjoyed serving in The Boy Scouts of America. Odell had many interests and hobbies that he enjoyed, including dancing, metal, leather, muzzle loading, fishing, hunting and being in the outdoors. He was a gifted artist, and loved to cook. Odell is survived by his loving wife, Carol McLain of Ririe, ID; daughter, Angela (Doug) Frazier; daughter, Danielle Cage; daughter, Yvette Thomas; sister, Sharon (Jack) Rhondeau; brother, Clair (Mary Ellen) McLain; step-daughter, Jill (Troy) Buxton; step-daughter, Dea (Grant) Johnson; step-daughter, Zanda Nelson; step-son, Derek (Cami) Dodson; step-son, Arlyn (Tasha) Dodson; step-daughter, Amanda (Calvin) Beard; step-daughter, Joy (Cory) Cook; step-daughter, Tammy (Bob) Hendriks; 36 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister, Janette Bybee and brother, Dean McLain. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Ririe LDS 3rd Ward, 285 2nd West, with Bishop Burt Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. Military Rites will be performed by the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
