Norma Vance

Biography

Norma Claire Vance, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 23, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Norma was born November 7, 1931, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Irvin Blaise Haydel, Sr. and Myrtle Ada DeLoach Haydel. She grew up and attended schools in Gulfport and graduated from Gulfport High School. She then took nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and received her degree as a Registered Nurse. Norma worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals all her life. Norma also lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Challis, Idaho, before moving to Idaho Falls 15 years ago. Norma was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and loved her church. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, and being with her family. Norma is survived by her son, Steven C. (Danette) Vance of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Tammara C. (Kurt) Martin of Shelley, ID; a brother, Irvin B. Haydel II of Ocean Springs, MS; a sister, Joyce Norton of Shreveport, LA; 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda McCullough.
