Norma Valora Russell, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 1, 2018, at her daughter’s home. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice.

Norma was born August 26, 1922, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Ellis Killpack and Hazel Peterson Killpack. She grew up and attended elementary school in Osgood and graduated from Ammon High School.

On June 20, 1940, she married Kenneth Wesley Russell in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 11, 1964. To this union were born one son, DeLynn and three daughters, DeAnn, Loretta and Cindy. Norma and Kenneth made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Norma worked in potato processing and as a pharmacy tech at Rite Aid Drug until her retirement in 1997. Kenneth passed away on September 3, 1989. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering for the next 14 years at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She received many awards for her many hours of service and earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Bush.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities throughout the years, including a Church Service Mission at The Family History Center in Idaho Falls. She loved crocheting and made afghans for all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, line dancing, reading, going to the mountains and spending time with her family.

Norma is survived by her daughters, DeAnn Hahn-Dees (Brent) of Idaho Falls, ID, Loretta (Bob) Eldredge of Pocatello, ID, Cindy (Brad) Kienlen of Zachary, LA; brothers, Wayne (Joyce) Killpack, Gary Killpack, and Dale (Brenda) Killpack; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Hazel Killpack; husband, Kenneth Wesley Russell; son, Kenneth Delynn Russell; brothers, Vernal and Martell Killpack; and sister, Leora Wagoner.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Jared Kunz of the Ammon LDS 21st Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
