Noreen Millar

Noreen Millar, 72, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 30, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of pneumonia. Noreen was born November 7, 1939, in Shelley, Idaho, the only child born to Howard Millar and Lucille Thompson Millar. When Noreen was young, the family relocated to the Bingham / American Fork area of Utah. It was soon determined that difficulties were slowing physical development, and several surgeries were attempted without complete success. It was to be Noreen’s lot that her life would be dependent upon wheelchairs, motorized carts, and caregivers. Despite physical difficulties, Noreen was able to graduate from high school in 1958, and also completed seminary requirements at American Fork. A goal also successfully completed was being sealed to her family in the temple. Her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a great source of satisfaction for Noreen. In 1985, Noreen’s father passed away and Noreen and her mom relocated to Idaho Falls. Lucille’s health condition worsened from complications of arthritis, which lead to her passing in 1995. Since that time, Noreen’s care became a group effort with extended family – mainly cousins – providing loving support, including health care and budget management, but most of all, caring visitation on a regular basis. A major caregiver throughout this period was Linda Wyatt, a caring friend. Noreen enjoyed many friends in the Idaho Falls Woodruff First Ward as they reached out in gestures of caring, including escorting her and her cart to and from functions. Noreen was preceded in death by her father, Howard, and her mother, Lucille. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, July 6, 2012, at the American Fork City Cemetery, 26 West 600 North, American Fork, Utah.
