Nona Woolf Tavares, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 17, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Nona was born November 18, 1927, in Grover, Wyoming, to Martin LeRoy Bee and Louisa Welchman Bee. She attended schools in Grover and Idaho Falls High School.
Nona married her first love, Lloyd Hales. She later married Wade Woolf July 23, 1951, in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death January 24, 1982. She married Norman Tavares December 17, 1987, in Redwood City, California. He preceded her in death August 27, 1989.
Nona was employed with Manning’s in San Francisco, eventually becoming the manager. She later took her managements skills to Marriott’s, where she worked until retirement. After moving to Idaho Falls in 1990, she volunteered at EIRMC and Women Against Domestic Violence. She also worked at JC Penney and did demonstrations for local food chains.
Nona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had been served as branch librarian until her recent release. Nona enjoyed music by Glen Miller, dancing, reading, walking her pets, and pinochle on Wednesdays with various friends. She loved searching, experimenting, and cooking old or new recipes, then sharing with family and friends.

Daughter: Tonya Lee Williams of San Rafael, CA
Daughter: Sharie Marie Fisher of Marbleton, WY
14 Grandchildren 23 Great Grandchildren and her loving animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Peterson.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
The family suggests memorial donations in Nona’s name be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
