Nola Mae Evans Pruitt, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 20, 2012, at her home of cancer. August 20th is also her late husband Jack’s birthday. She was under the care of her family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Nola was born May 15, 1930, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Joseph Partington Evans and Martha Worlton Evans. She grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. On June 4, 1949, she married Jack Jean Pruitt in Rexburg, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Rexburg until 1952, when they moved to Idaho Falls. A wife, homemaker, and mother, Nola also worked as a clerk and waitress at the family business (Evan’s Ice Cream). After attending Glen E. Clark Business School, she worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Ucon Produce. Jack passed away December 30, 2007. Nola was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. Active in ward bazaars, Nola prepared candy and needlework which was sold to raise funds for the ward. She was a member of the Cultural Arts Club. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, tatting, cross stitch embroidery, candy making, and canning. Nola was an avid reader. Nola is survived by her Daughter, Susan (Sid) Helm of Taylorsville, UT; Daughter, Martha Jeanne Williams of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Jack Jean (Jann) Pruitt, Jr. of Rigby, ID; Son, Joseph Irving (Shannon) Pruitt of Idaho Falls, ID, Son, Scott Evans (Lori) Pruitt of Bloomington, IN; Daughter, Julie Lacey of Ririe, ID; Sister, Joann (Lynn) Ritchie of Albuquerque, NM; 26 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sage Lakes Ward, 3370 North 5th West, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Lee Radford officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made in memory of Nola to Hands of Hope Hospice, 1379 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
