NOEL B. McGARY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Noel Berkley McGary, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 9, 2005, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center of natural causes.
He was born March 26, 1923, in Shelley, Idaho, to Owen McGary and Lillian Ruth Greco McGary. He spent his childhood years in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School at 16 years of age. He attended Montana State University in Missoula, Montana, Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and Idaho State University in Pocatello, then graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity.
He served in the U. S. Army briefly during World War II.
Noel worked as an oceanographic cartographer for the University of Washington and had many of his maps, both of areas in the ocean and on land, published.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Noel had a lifelong love of books and music. In later years he specialized in Japanese music and art.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Kirk McGary officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
