PeNina Hemming Miller, 101, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away January 2, 2024, at Portneuf Medical Center.
Nina was born June 25, 1922, in Driggs, Idaho, to Rulon Hemming and Mary Frances Meikle Hemming. She grew up and attended schools in Ashton and Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. She also attended LDS Business College and Ricks College.
On October 12, 1945, she married Robert Albert Miller. Nina and Robert made their home in Great Falls, Montana, where Nina worked as a salesperson for the Paris Department Store. She also lived in Orange County, California; El Paso, Texas; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Palmyra, Virginia.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She enjoyed reading and watching Hallmark movies.
Nina is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jim) McVay of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Peter McVay, Clay (Heather) McVay, Chris McVay, Derek (Jaclyn) McVay, Michael (Kim) McVay, Mary Ann (Eric) Pugh; sister, Nola Brower of Springville, UT; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; brother, Eugene Hemming; and sister, Phyllis Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Services will be broadcast live on this page. Burial will follow at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Fluvanna County SPCA in Virginia.
