Nick Sherwood

Nick John Sherwood, 49, a resident of the Cornelius community in Oregon, passed away Friday afternoon, July 29, 2016, at Tuality Community Hospital. Nick was born in 1967 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Don and Shirley Sherwood. He was raised in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School, where he played football and ran track. He worked for the family business, Sherwood Athletics, throughout junior high and high school. Nick obtained his associates degree from Idaho State University with a degree in Electro/Mechanical Technology. He worked for Intel as a Module and Self Sustaining technician for 22 years. He was well respected by his co-workers. Nick met Desiree Holverson and they married in 1991 in Idaho Falls. They moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1994, for his career and had two children, Julia and Jake. Nick loved music, especially Rock & Roll. He taught himself bass guitar by ear and performed as a musician all over the Northwest. There are memories of shredded jeans, spandex and his amazing curly hair. He was in the bands Chaos, Repeat Offender, Teaze, and Exposed. Nick was an avid San Diego Chargers fan. He was a jokester, prankster, and always loved to lighten the mood. He put his heart and soul into everything he did. He was dedicated and hard working. He had a technical mind from the time he was little. His hobbies included fantasy football, video games, collecting memorabilia, and making memory videos. He was creative and enjoyed building arcade games for his kids and designing/building props for his daughter's dance team. Nick was known for the elaborate Halloween Haunt he designed and created along with his neighbor. He truly put 100 percent into everything he did. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don & Evelyn Sherwood, his maternal grandparents, Genevieve and Paul Deffinger, his nephew, Jack Cochran, his cousin, Tyler Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Desiree Sherwood, his two children, Julia and Jake, his parents, Don & Shirley Sherwood, and his sister, Brandi.
