Obituary

Nicholas Jayce Olsen, 15, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly following a tragic car accident, on October 10, 2026.

Jayce was born on December 15, 2010, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Nicholas Levi Olsen and Nichole Jacqueline Gneiting. He grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls.

Jayce lived his 15 years to the fullest. He was always on the go, ready for the next adventure, because sitting still simply wasn't in his nature. He loved being surrounded by his people, and no destination was ever necessary when driving around town with his mom and two brothers. As long as they were together and the music was playing, he was happy and the louder, the better!

Jayce had a huge circle of friends and a personality that made him hard to miss and even harder to forget. He had a way of making everyone feel as though they were his best friend. His cousins held an especially important place in his heart, sharing unbreakable bonds that went far beyond family. They were his closest and truest friends.

With his contagious laugh and a smile that could light up any room, Jayce brought energy and life wherever he went. He turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. He knew who he was and never felt the need to apologize for it. He was unapologetically himself, lived boldly, and stood by his people with a fierce and unwavering loyalty.

Jayce leaves behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and cherished memories. Though his life was far too short, the impact he made and the bonds he built will never be measured in years. His unmistakable spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, in the stories retold for generations, and in the music played just a little louder.

If you were lucky enough to be loved by Jayce, you knew it. He made sure you knew. That was Jayce. His love was genuine, and his loyalty was rare. His life was brief, but his impact was lasting, and his legacy of love will live on forever.

Jayce is survived by his mother, Nichole Charboneau of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his father, Nicholas Olsen of Atwood, California; his brothers, Kayden Blaz Bateman, and Nikko William Ordway, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his stepbrother, Taysen Ordway of Twin Falls, Idaho; his grandmother, Teresa Ward of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his grandfathers, Tracy Gneiting of Rigby, Idaho, and John Ricks of Idaho Falls, Idaho; aunts, Taylor Ricks of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Paula Crabtree and Korie Raymond both of Pocatello, Idaho; and uncle, K.C. Kluksdal of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Olsen; his grandfathers, Barry Nichols, and Rodney Ward; and his great-grandparents, Burnell and Beverly Walker, and Fred and Carol Olsen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In honor of Jayce, those attending the services are asked to wear blue.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
