Nicholas Newman, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 28, 2011 from cancer. Nick was born November 16, 1955, in London, England, to Alfred Edward Newman and Jacqueline Riley Newman. He attended Pembroke College graduating with a Master’s Degree from Cambridge University in England. He lived primarily in London, England, for 33 years. He married Darlene Christensen on September 8, 1988, in Surrey, England. They made their home in Idaho Falls. Nick worked as a United Kingdom representative for the International LOFT Program and as a thermo-hydraulic analyst. He was currently employed as a software engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory. He was the first employee to receive the Employee of the Quarter award from INL Information Management BPA Department. Nick enjoyed hiking, skiing, camping, photography, bicycle riding and computer programming. Survivors include: Wife: Darlene Newman of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Geoff Newman, France Brother: Steven Newman, England Sister: Anita Bentley, United Kingdom Michelle Drew, United Kingdom He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
