Nicholas Levi Cureton

Nicholas Levi Cureton, 43, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 30, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, after suffering a stroke. Nicholas was born February 12, 1979, in Rexburg, Idaho, to William Thomas Cureton and DeEsta Curr Cureton. He grew up in Chester and attended schools in St. Anthony, graduating from South Fremont High School in 1997. He also attended Ricks College before serving an LDS mission to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Nicholas was an Iraq War veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army as a mortarman. On July 22, 2006, he married Heidi Lou Davis in Island Park, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where Nicholas loved Heidi's two boys, Miklo and Mason, as his own. Together they welcomed a third boy, Matthew, in 2007. Nicholas had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and archery. He was known in the BMX community as "Uncle Nic" where he spent free time racing and coaching youth teams that loved him very much. His other hobbies included taxidermy, tying fishing flies, riding motorcycles, sewing minky, and playing video games. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Cureton of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Mason (Brittany) Davis of Brigham City, UT and Matthew Cureton of Idaho Falls, ID; father, William Cureton of Chester, ID; sister, Laurel (Jeff) Young of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Alex (Michelle) Cureton of Idaho Falls, ID; and many more.

He was preceded in death by his mother, DeEsta Cureton, and son, Miklo Cureton. Services will be held at the Ashton Stake Center, 516 North 2nd Street, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. His family welcomes all friends and loved ones to say goodbye to Nicholas at a viewing on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Tuesday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Nicholas will be buried next to his son, Miklo, in the Chester Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the St. Anthony Veterans Honor Guard and the Idaho Honor Guard.
