Nels Jorgensen

Nels Wayne Jorgensen, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 29, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Nels was born September 11, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington, to LaVerne Nels Jorgensen and Addie June Gunnell Jorgensen. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served in the Unites States Air Force. He attended the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On January 13, 1971, he married Sharon Kay Roberts in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He raised three children, Chantelle, Travis, and Cody. Nels and Sharon made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Nels worked as a welder for Logan Farm and Anderson Manufacturing.

He enjoyed camping, dirt biking, fishing, guns, and spending time in nature. His true passion was riding and restoring his Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Nels is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Chantelle (Harold) Krasinski of Boise, ID; son, Travis (Heather) Hooper of Boise, ID; son, Cody Wayne Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Richard Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID; two granddaughters and one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Ryker, and a great granddaughter, Emma Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.

Military Rites will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Air Force Honor Guard.
