NELLIE ELKINGTON
AMMON, ID -- Nellie Judy Elkington, age 90, of Ammon, passed away February 25, 2003, in Centerville, Utah.
She was born February 28, 1912, in Salem, Idaho, to William Aaron Judy and Mary Ann Ward Judy.
Nellie was married to Henry Dean Elkington on September 23, 1932, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, in a double ceremony with her sister, Cora, and his brother, Reed. They made their home in Ammon and Bone, where she was a homemaker and mother and they were lifelong partners in their ranching business. They spent several winters in Yuma, Arizona, until Dean passed away February 26, 1995, after which she continued on her own.
She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society organizations, and also worked in the Idaho Falls Temple. She served a full-time LDS mission with her husband in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed sewing, canning, crocheting, quilting, baking, gardening and time spent in the mountains. Nellie found joy in helping others and was a friend and role model for all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, at the Ammon LDS 7th Ward, 4375 Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Lloyd Cox officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
