Nellie Edith Poulsen, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed from this life on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her niece's home in Rigby where she had been living. She was under the care of Enhabit Hospice.
Nellie was born September 4, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Myrl E. Curnutt and June Beasley Curnutt. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. She attended Washington School House from 1st grade through 8th grade, then 9th grade at Shelley High School, and 10th grade through 12th grade at Idaho Falls High School. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On September 4, 1952, she married Guy Alexander Poulsen Jr. in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Nellie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving others. Her life was one of compassion and love. She loved many things in life, music, baking goodies for friends and family, china painting, reading, flowers, but most of all she loved her family.
Nellie leaves behind her daughter, Terrie (David) Mackley of Hurricane, UT; son, Brian (Pam) Poulsen of Fresno, CA; brother, Mike Curnutt of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter-in-law, Kathy Poulsen of Idaho Falls, ID; 19 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her life-long love and husband, Guy Alexander Poulsen Jr.; daughter, Roseann Poulsen; son, Guy A. Poulsen III; grandsons, Guy A. Poulsen IV, Jeremy Hix, and Justin Klinger; great grandson, Rustyn Opperman; and her parents, Myrl and June Curnutt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road in Ammon, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
