Neldon "Nick" Lynn Casper

Neldon "Nick" Lynn Casper, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 24, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Eastern Idaho Hospice.

Nick was born August 1, 1944, in Tetonia, Idaho, to Lynn Willard Casper and Ruth Margaret Hansen Casper. He grew up and attended schools in Driggs, Idaho. He earned his Bachelors degree in Education, and his Masters degree in Child Behavior, both from Utah State University.

On December 16, 1972, he married Virginia Lee Brue in Idaho Falls, ID. Nick and Virginia made their home in Idaho Falls, where Nick worked as a school teacher.

Nick was a member and leader of the SGI International Buddist Group. He played the guitar and sang in a band called the "Old Man Rock Band." Nick loved music, playing the guitar, walking his dogs, hiking in the Teton's, and sharing laughs with his friends and family.

Nick is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Casper of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jason (Lynitia) Casper of Orchard Park, NY; son, Derik (Amanda West) Casper of St. Paul, MN; son, Christian (Jaimi) Casper of Charlotte, NC; sister, JoAnn (Richard) Freeman of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Kathy (Phillip) Elliott of Afton, WY; sister, Cindy (Kevin) Holmes of Logan, UT; and 6 grandchildren, Tanner, Kyler, Campbell, Sadie Grace, Clara, and Harriet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Ruth Casper; and his sister, Randee Sue Jones.

Private family services will be held.
