NELDA D. OWENS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Nelda D. Montague Owens, 95, of Idaho Falls, died July 14, 2007, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab of natural causes. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born March 31, 1912, in Woodville, Idaho, to William A. Montague and Mary Brown Montague. She grew up in Woodville and Osgood and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
She married Reed Dewain Owens March 10, 1931, in Osgood, Idaho. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a seamstress for Levine's, as Lead Lady for Idaho Potato Growers, and rode horse at the Idaho Falls Livestock Auction. Her husband passed away May 15, 1992.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Relief Society and as a Primary teacher. She enjoyed sewing, painting, and reading. The family expresses their appreciation to Idaho Falls Health & Rehab and Hospice of Eastern Idaho for their kind and loving care.

Daughter: Mary Gayle Jenkins (Ken Finnegan) of Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Dale Blaine (Teri) Owens of Idaho Falls, ID
Son: David Reed (Kathy) Owens of Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Irna Jones of Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Faughn Ashworth of Salt Lake City, UT
19 Grandchildren & 45 Great Grandchildren and 21 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, two brothers, and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, with Tom Haynes officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

Nelda, Erma and I were just like sisters and always got along. We worked well together and always had alot of fun. She was a special friend to me and I will miss her very much. God love all of you.
