Nate was an active member for many years and we were already looking forward to working with him in preparation for our Annual Meeting and Symposium scheduled for Spring, 2007 in Idaho Falls. We will miss him intensely. Philip A Anderson, Executive Director Idaho Academy of Science 909 Lucille Ave Pocatello, ID 83201 Debbie Sheppeard (sheppeard@d181.k12.id.us) I would just like to express my condolences for your loss. I am the volleyball coach at Challis High School and I have enjoyed working with Nate as a referee for years. I will truly miss his jovial attitude. He truly enjoyed working with kids and had a great time at every match I saw him officiate. I love to see people who are in it for the kids and Nate really was. We had an on going joke about how white my shoes were at the start of the season this year. I am sorry that I will be unable to show him their dingy condition at the end of the season, he doubted that our bus trips could really do that to them. I will really miss joking with him and I hope you are comforted knowing what a good man he was. Thank you for sharing him with the youth in Idaho Sports. Sincerest sympathy to you all. Debbie Sheppeard Carmen Garlie Amanda Robinson #11 Katie Fox #8 Charito Morales #42 Ciadie Disciascio #4 Stephanie Helm #6 Marjorie Corrigan #17 Darcy Kimble #19 Ciciley Fox #21 Kristen Garlie #44 and all the CHS Volleyball girls. Michael Handy (michael.handy@wasatch.edu) You have my sincere condolences. I respected and admired your husband and father very much. May God bless and comfort you, and may His Spirit help you to find peace. Dawn Lloyd ( sunset@cableone.net) Just wanted to say how much we will miss Nate. I referred Volleyball with Nate for many years. Even after I quit, Every time I would go to watch a game of any sport, Nate would stop to talk. He was a great man that will really be missed. Amye Welch Godfrey ( amyegodfrey@cox.net) Nathan was one of the brilliant ones in our Salmon High School class of '67. I think we all knew he would become something like a chemical engineer with multiple degrees. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always busy. He played football (with my dad Coach Golden Welch), ran track, played basketball, and was involved in band, chorus, chess club, and science club, as well as church activities. Sounds like he continued to make the most of his talents. I wish I had known him these last 38 years. May God bless you in your loss. Amye Welch Godfrey Glendale, AZ Bob Garner (rgarner121@hotmail.com) Nathan was my good friend in high school and, in fact, I can say he was my best friend. We did scouting, played football, and other sports at high school together. He also was my best man at my wedding. That was a promise he made to me that he faithfully kept. I cannot express my shock and sadness that he is gone. I regret that we did not communicate very often. This will serve as a reminder to me that friends are never to be forgotten or taken for granted. I am proud to be among his friends and to have known him. He enriched my life with his humor, his intelligence, and his goodness. I will miss him. He was one of the "GOOD ONES." My best to you Marietta and the children. Ssincerely, Bob Garner Dale Jolly I had the privilege of taking classes and sharing an office with Nate in CPP 637 some years back. A great loss to the family, community, INL and AIChE.
