Natalie Wahl

Natalie Denise Wahl, 40, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 26, 2016, at her home.

The world has lost a loving, tender, and humorous soul. Born October 9, 1975, Natalie Denise Wahl (aka: "Naturally", "Nat-Rat") departed her mortal confines on January 26, 2016, much too soon for one so full of love and laughter. Natalie fought a long and courageous battle with diabetes that over a period of a few short years ravaged her physical body with the loss of her toes, feet, legs, and infection after infection. Through it all Natalie retained her sense of humor and her undying love for family and friends. Diabetes took her life, but it never took her heart or her smile.

Natalie was one of those special people that heard the drum that no one else could hear. She marched bravely, and sometimes defiantly to that beat which instilled in her a special compassion for the elderly and disabled. It also prompted her to do wild and crazy things: (sticking string up her nose so far she could pull it out of her mouth; putting groceries and toys in other people's shopping carts at stores; perfectly mimicking the voice of Donald Duck; eating salt like it was candy; dancing and singing in front of crowds even though she could do neither very well; tripping over a blade of grass, that led to many scars as a testament to her innate clumsiness; being deathly afraid of moths; and being able to make some of the funniest and bizarre faces for photos that you could imagine.

Yet through all this quirkiness, clumsiness, weirdness, and humor shone such a light of love and acceptance, that no matter how bizarre her actions might seem you couldn't help but love and cherish every moment you were lucky enough to spend with Natalie.

Natalie leaves behind her beautiful and precious daughter Alexis (Lexie), mother Kris, father Harry (Alice), sister Amy (Kevin), brother Mike (Rachael), cousins, aunts, uncles, niece Cortnie and nephew Kyle, and far too many friends to mention. She will be greatly missed and remembered always with a smile.
