NATALIE MACHEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Natalie Dawn (Sloopy) O'Connor Machen, 41, of Idaho Falls, died March 16, 2006, at the home of her sister. She was born September 25, 1964, at Montpelier, Idaho, to Clyde Nathaniel O'Connor and Minnie Charlotte Brown and was raised by her mother and step-father, William Thomas Thornock. She also lived in Cokeville, Wyoming, before starting school in Idaho Falls. She attended Emerson Elementary, O.E. Bell Jr. High and Idaho Falls High School. Being ill all of her life, she lived well past the expectations of the doctors she knew; however, she always joked about having more operations than she was old and had a good attitude about life. Due to poor health, she was obliged to leave school at age 16, then the family traveled all over the United States visiting National Parks and Monuments, including the Spokane World's Fair. In 1984 she married Joseph Ernest Machen in Idaho Falls and they were later divorced. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and, as a youth was involved with Job's Daughters. She enjoyed reading, dancing, camping, fishing, and was passionate about collecting hummingbird figurines, Campbell collectables and antiques.
