Narharilal Himmatlal “Baboo” Bhatt, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 22, 2011, at Idaho Falls Care and Rehabilitation Center after a brief hospitalization. He was born December 7, 1923, in Kheda, Gujarat State, India to Himmatlal C. Bhatt and Ladkor H. Bhatt. He grew up and attended schools in the area, including Gujarat University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. On May 21, 1946, he married Vidyaben Shelat in Umreth, India. In 1985, they moved to Carteret, New Jersey, where they lived for 14 years. They then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they have since resided. While living in India, he worked as head clerk for the Indian Railroad. He enjoyed walking, bicycling, traveling, and loved all kinds of good food. Survivors include: Wife: Vidyaben Bhatt of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Raj (Anita) Bhatt of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Ajit (Dharma) Bhatt of Carteret, NJ; and Four grandchildren: Niraj (Anupama) Bhatt of New York, NY; Anuraj Bhatt of Chandler, AZ; Dr. Biren Bhatt of New York, NY; and Dr. Rujuta Bhatt of Los Angeles, CA. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Ar Anantharamakrishnan of the Shree Ganesha Hindu Temple (of Salt Lake City, UT) officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home.
