NAOMI VAN WITBECK
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Naomi Jane Thomas Van Witbeck, 86, of Idaho Falls, died June 11, 2005 at Life Care Center.
She was born November 16, 1918, in Amwell Township, Pennsylvania to Albert B. Thomas and Bessie Jane Shape Thomas. She grew up and attended schools in the area. She left school at an early age to care for sick friends and relatives. Naomi made care giving her life work pursuing a career in nursing after graduating from the Gamper Institute of Practical Nursing in Denver, Colorado. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in Denver, Colorado and Hollywood, California.
On December 2, 1940, she married Kenneth Le Roy Witbeck in Ravenna, Ohio. They raised three children and later divorced. Naomi had a passion for travel and frequently visited her many friends around the country. She also enjoyed dancing, baking and playing bingo. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

She was preceded in death by five siblings; Dorman L. Thomas, Paul A. Thomas, Ruth M. Berquist, Dortha E. Plants and George W. Thomas.
Memorial Services are planned for the Fall of 2005 in Washington, Pennsylvania. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
