Nancy Lee Burke, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 2, 2026, at her home. She was under the care of Eden Hospice.
Nancy was born August 1, 1935, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Emory Charles Anderson and Margaret Beatrice Erwin Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Ohio and West Virginia. She attended the University of Hawaii and received her RN Certificate, Idaho State University where she earned her Bachelors of Nursing, and UCLA earning her Masters of Nursing.
On June 5, 1954, she married Garry Lee Burke in Iona, Idaho. Nancy and Garry made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Nancy worked as a licensed nurse practitioner.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, quilting, genealogy, and spending time with family.
Nancy is survived by her son, Lawrence Lee (Juanita) Burke of Iona, ID; daughter, Karen (William) Evelyn of Mendon, UT; son, Jeffery Lamont Burke of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter-in-law, Anita Rose Burke of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Charlene (Larry) Wilson of Deatsville, AL; sister, Bette (W.F. John) Carpenter of Martinsburg, WV; 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Lee Burke; daughter, Jeanette Louise Burke-Holst; son, Garry Richard (Anita) Burke; sisters, Phylliss Rogers, and Ellen Kay Anderson; and her parents, Emory and Margaret Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Boulevard Ward, 1235 Juniper in Idaho Falls. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
