Nanci Charlotte (Symes) Hiatt

Nanci Charlotte Symes Hiatt, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 28, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Nanci was born July 25, 1944, in Ely, Nevada, to James De Vere Symes and Donna Crafts Symes. She grew up and attended schools in Ely, McGill and Ruth, Nevada. Nanci and her family moved to Idaho Falls in 1955 and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1962. On June 8, 1976, she married Gordon Dale Hiatt in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nanci and Gordon made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Nanci worked as a Dispatcher for the Idaho Falls Police Department. Nanci was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed ceramics, collecting dolls, and her puppies. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Nanci is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Gordon Dale Hiatt; daughter, Cheryl Baird of Idaho Falls, ID, sons, Eric (Alice) Williams of Moore, ID, and Todd (Joise) Williams of Caldwell, ID; daughters, Kristine (David) Newborg of Helena, MT, Donna Hiatt of Boise, ID, and Martha Hiatt of Boise, ID; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Symes; granddaughter, Kikuko Baird; uncle, Dale Craft, and her grandparents.

A gathering will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
