MYRT OWEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Myrtle Virginia “Myrt” Holden Owen, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 8, 2006, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice Alliance.
She was born March 18, 1924, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Joseph Willard Holden and Lillian Grace Barrows Holden. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot.
In 1940 she married Gaetano Joseph Gianchetta. They were later divorced. She married Edward Eugene Owen September 16, 1948, in Idaho Falls. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as a Librarian at Dora Erickson School. Her husband passed away April 5, 1987.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an Easter Seal volunteer for many years, a girl scout leader, and was a member of the B.P.O.E. Does, AARP, Golden Girls, and the Bonneville Historical Society. She enjoyed family history research, travel, reading, and spending time with her family.

Daughter: Peggy A. Miller, Caldwell, ID
Son: Gandy R. Gianchetta, Jr., Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Larry D. Gianchetta, Missoula, MT
Stepdaughter: Donna R. Reynolds, Hastings, MN
14 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all of her siblings, Dorothy, Betty, Jackson, Ruth, and Peggy, and a granddaughter, Daydra Golden.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward, 1155 East First Street, with Craig Shull, First Counselor in the 21st Ward Bishopric, officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Monday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
