MIKE RICHINS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Myron Ether “Mike” Richins, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 3, 2007, at his home of cancer. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born January 23, 1922, in Victor, Idaho, to Joseph Ether Richins and Julia Cherry Richins. He grew up in Teton Valley and graduated from Victor High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and Vietnam. He married Donna Josephson July 20, 1946, and they divorced in 1960. He married Gayl Lovell Harker March 11, 1961 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Gayl passed away August 31, 2001. He worked at the Driggs Cash Garage as an auto mechanic following World War II. In 1954 he started working full-time for the U. S. Army National Guard. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer W4 in 1982. He moved to Idaho Falls 48 years ago and had wintered in Overton, Nevada, the past 25 years. He married Jean Esther Sermon June 17, 2002, in Jackson, Wyoming. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he sang in the church choir in Overton, Nevada. He served as President of the Idaho Falls Bowling Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, keno, playing cards, working on his cars, and listening to opera. Survivors include: Wife: Jean Richins of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Marilyn Richins (Vance) Nelson of Menan, ID Son: Van (Deanne) Harker of Kent, WA Son: Norman (Marilyn) Harker of Vancouver, WA Son: Danny (Barbara) Payne of Sacramento, CA Daughter: Sharlene (Allen) Budge of Jackson, WY Son: Michael Payne of Jackson, WY Son: Kelly (Michelle) Payne of Folsom, CA Brother: Alva Richins of Jackson, WY Brother: Reed Richins of Idaho Falls, ID 18 Grandchildren & 25 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayl, two brothers, Alma “Joe” and Keith, and two sisters, Amy and Veda. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Idaho Falls LDS 15th Ward, 2051 South Emerson, with Bishop Steven Parry officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home Military Rites will be performed by the Idaho Honor Guard. -------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Boyd & Lynda Brown; Virginia Laird We were so saddened to hear of Mike's passing and offer our sincere condolences.
