Myrna Kidd Green, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 18, 2015, at her home.
Myrna was born July 16, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lawrence W. Kidd and Anne Sorensen Kidd. While growing up, the family lived and always based themselves in Idaho Falls, but in 1931, Myrna’s parents became involved in racing thoroughbred horses which took them to the premier horse tracks all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Traveling from race track to race track, Myrna and her sisters had to attend many different schools around the country but still managed to spend a lot of their school years in Idaho Falls where she graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On August 10, 1947, Myrna married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Green, whom she’d known since the third grade. Bob got involved in the clothing business in the early years, and in 1958, Myrna and Bob opened their own clothing store, "Greens," which was located in downtown Idaho Falls. Over the years Myrna also found an interest in banking and worked at First Security and Idaho First National Banks. Bob passed away May 27, 2015.
Myrna was a true example of a lady of style and grace. She had a great wit and was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed golfing, dancing with her husband, Bob, playing bridge with her friends, cooking, knitting, embroidery, and traveling, especially in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. She also enjoyed helping out with the Festival of Trees during the holidays for many years. But most of all, Myrna loved spending as much time as she possibly could with her family.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. (Claudia) Green of Idaho Falls; son, William G. Green of Idaho Falls & Vail, CO; sister, Shirley Call of Idaho Falls; sister Billie Thomason of Bend, OR; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Myrna was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Yet again, the family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Scott Taylor and the angels working at Hospice of Eastern Idaho for their expertise and gentle care towards Myrna and her husband, Bob.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho (a not for profit organization), 1810 Moran Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. Donation slips may be picked up at the funeral home.
