Myrle Seehusen

Myrle Neeley Seehusen, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 27, 2018, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Myrle was born May 2, 1931, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Elmer Raymond Neeley and Susannah LaVerne Orchard Neeley. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot. She later earned her GED. On December 14, 1956, she married Pete Seehusen in Blackfoot. They adopted three children, Mitchel, Barton, and Michelle. Myrle and Pete made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Myrle worked as a day care provider. She loved her work and poured her heart and soul into the children. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed working with the Miss Idaho Falls Pageant helping the girls prepare. She loved offering her support for the church’s unwed mother program and acted as a foster mother for many. Myrle is survived by her loving husband, Pete Seehusen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mitchel Glenn (Linda) Seehusen of South Jordan, UT; son, Barton Paul (Gina) Seehusen of Abeline, KS; daughter, Michelle Lou Hamblin of Gilbert, AZ; brother, Calvin Neeley of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Ruth Judd of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Joy Phelps of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Roma Jean Albiston of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Carma Lou Adams of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Beth Forsman of Idaho Falls, ID; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Alma; brother, Paul Neeley; sister, Cloda McCrory; and sister, Virginia Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Idaho Falls LDS Willow Creek Ward, 6925 North 15th East, with Bishop Jason Hales officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.
