Myrle ReNae Hunter

Myrle ReNae Hunter, 93, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Kerry Goodrich, passed away January 22, 2026, at home, in Tremonton, Utah. She was under the care of Intermountain Hospice.

ReNae was born April 18, 1932, in Georgetown, Idaho, to George Edgar Bartschi and Berniece Bacon Bartschi. She lived in Georgetown, Idaho, until her family moved to Salt Lake in 1941. They moved back to Georgetown in 1943 when her parents bought a store from her great grandparents. The family then moved to Pocatello in 1949 when her dad got a permanent job with the Union Pacific railroad. In 1950, she graduated from Pocatello High School. She went from a class of 6 in Georgetown to a class of 300 in Pocatello. She worked for Garret Freight Lines and Walgreens as a young adult and attended BYU for one semester.

On June 12, 1953, she married Benjamin R Hunter in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were married for 67 years when Ben passed away. Ben and ReNae made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they raised their family. They loved to go camping, especially after buying a tent trailer. Ben and ReNae traveled extensively throughout the world in their later years.

She spent most of her life as a stay-at-home mother. She loved to read to her children and grandchildren. She worked at Idaho Falls High School as an attendance secretary and later at the Hatch Clinic as a receptionist.

ReNae loved to host parties in her home. She was a gracious hostess and a marvelous cook and was especially good at making soups, rolls and pies. One of her favorite activities was getting together with her friends to make chocolates and other candies for Christmas. She loved decorating her home for Christmas.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many years in the Primary as a teacher and later as the Stake Primary President. She also served in the Relief Society and Young Women's organizations.

ReNae was a woman of service. She had a testimony of Jesus Christ. She loved music and loved to dance, especially with her dad. One day, during the last few days of her life, she was listening to Lawrence Welk and before getting into bed, danced by her walker until the song was finished. She enjoyed playing the piano and her grandchildren loved to hear her long fingernails click on the keys as she played. ReNae can be described as humble, sweet, kind, loving, compassionate, and happy. She was always smiling and had an infectious laugh.
