MYREL ARAVE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Myrel Arave, 86, of Idaho Falls, died June 2, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from causes incident to old age. She was born July 9, 1917, at Taylor, Idaho, in a log cabin on Quail Creek in the foothills of Taylor Mountain to Joseph Polson and Clara Lillian Doty Polson. She grew up at Taylor and attended school at Taylor and Shelley. On March 15, 1936, she married Wallace Earl Arave at Taylor, Idaho. He was a farmer, industrial equipment businessman, and Millwright construction worker, which necessitated their living in Osgood and Shelley, Idaho, and in Tacoma, Washington, until he preceded her in death. She then lived in Portland, Oregon, for eight years and for the last six years of her life at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Blazer Scouts and Cub Scouts for many years, was a Visiting Teacher, and attended the Temple often. She enjoyed oil and ceramic painting, which were coveted as home decor by her friends and family; she also enjoyed quilting beautiful quilts which were sent throughout the world. She sewed her children’s clothing until they left home, and her home was furnished with her crafts and live flowers to the awe of all who visited her home. (Pamela) Arave, Kalispell, MT Daughter: Nadine (Charles) Jones, Klammath Falls, OR Son: Kent D. Arave, Cannon City, CO Daughter: Renae (Gene) Frazer, Portland, OR Sister: Natella Brown, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Leo (Eva) Cook, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Delila (Leon) Olsen, Ephraim, UT Sister: Gloria (Mike) Licon 30 Grandchildren, 72Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josie and Joyce and a brother, Afton. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends for one hour before services on Saturday at Wood Funeral Home.
