Monica Miranda Munoz, 64, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 8, 2016, at University of Utah Medical Center following a courageous battle after a double lung transplant.

Monica was born October 29, 1951, in San Bernardino, California, to Trinidad Ochoa Miranda and Jessie Manzanarez Miranda. She grew up and attended schools in Bloomington.

On October 28, 1978, she married Julio Gonzalez Munoz in Rigby, Idaho. To this union were born three children, Christopher, Luciano, and Claudia. Monica and Julio made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Monica worked as a Bi-lingual Interpreter at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching her novellas, music, dancing, visiting the casino. She could often be found with a caramel mocha in hand and crocheting away.

Monica is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Julio Munoz of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Christopher Lee (Jennifer) Ramirez of Ammon, ID; son, Luciano (Gabrielle) Munoz of Corrine, UT; daughter, Claudia Santos of Tucson, AZ; brother, Rosalio J, (Angelin) Miranda Sr. Of Chino, CA; brother, Rudy Miranda of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Irene Miranda Labra of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Lawrence H. Miranda of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Trinidad Miranda of San Bernardino, CA; and 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 12, 2016, at Christ The King Catholic Church, 17th and Woodruff Ave., with Father Raul Covarrubias officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am with a Rosary to follow at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

11 a.m. ,Friday, August 12, 2016 Christ the King Roman Catholic Church 1696 East 17th Street Idaho Falls, ID 83404 Notes: The family will visit with friends Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am with a Rosary to follow at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
