We wish to extend our condolences to you and your family on the death of your baby. Our family just went through this ourselves and we know how difficult it is. It is so consoling, however, to know that the baby is yours forever. You will have the opportunity to raise the baby during the millennium. You will also have a guide to live your life by so as a couple, you will be worthy to join this grown spirit in the celestial kingdom when that time comes. President Joseph Fielding Smith said that when the baby’s spirit leaves its body, it goes back to the adult, grown spirit and goes about doing its work in the spirit world as an adult. When you get the baby during the millennium, the spirit will assume the baby’s body again so you can raise him/her to adulthood. (Doctrines of Salvation, Volume 2) President Joseph Smith said that babies who die before the age of accountability were too pure and valiant to have to prove themselves during mortality. What an honor it is as parents to know that you were favored enough to have such a valiant spirit come into your lives. I know that these things are true and our prayers are with you as you sort these feelings and thoughts out in your own minds and lives. Never forget what you have to live for. Keep a journal and record your feelings so you can read them again as time goes by. May God continue to bless you as we all keep in mind the reality and truthfulness of the Plan of Salvation.

Dear Kerry and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the death of your new daughter.
I visited with Kerry this summer at the Lafever Family Reunion. We talked about how both her husband and my son-in-law, Jake Shumway are working in California for South's.
My prayers are with you at this time.
A cousin
