Mollie Croft

Mollie Rupp Croft, 86, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in Sacramento, Calif., where she had gone to live with her daughter, Sheri Trujillo, 4 years ago. Mollie died of natural causes. She was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Pocatello to George Earl Rupp and Ruby Eleanor Baker Rupp. Mollie was the youngest of eight children. She is survived by two brothers, Mahlon E. Rupp and Gerald A. Rupp, and one sister, June Eleanor Frazier, all of Pocatello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dewey Croft, two brothers and two sisters. She attended school in Pocatello at Roosevelt grade school, Irving Jr. High and Pocatello High School. She married William Morris Taylor in 1942; they later divorced, and she married Dewey C. Croft in 1946. She lived in Pocatello until 1967, at which time she moved to Idaho Falls. Mollie had six children: three sons, Dewey H. Croft of Riverbank, Calif., Larry William Croft of Idaho Falls and Ronald Neal Croft of Idaho Falls; and three daughters, Toni Sonya Christy of Sacramento, Calif., Jeannie Kay Stevenson of Blythe, Ga., and Sheri Dawn Trujillo of Sacramento, Calif. She had 27 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was very loved and adored by all of her children and grandchildren. Mollie loved people and made many friends. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, painting, quilting, crafts, playing bridge, singing and especially her family, who always came first. Her husband, Dewey, always said if he got up in the morning and could hear Mollie singing, "all was right with the world," and she always sang; she loved it. Another love later in her life was her special little partner/dog, Precious. She was her baby, companion and best little friend ever, who loved to lick her and try to make her better all the time. She loved to be on her lap and with her at all times. Mollie worked as a cook and waitress, candled eggs, worked at Turpins Plumbing, she was a decorating consultant and salesperson for Anderson & Balmforth and lots of other odd jobs throughout life. She was an excellent homemaker in the midst of it all and was an excellent seamstress, artist, quilter and very gifted at all forms of arts and crafts. She was very adept at helping her husband, Dewey, do building and remodeling of their homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Ammon 5th Ward, 2055 S.
