Moises Garcia Ortega

Moises Garcia Ortega, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 15, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Moises was born November 25, 1958, in Vizarron de Montes, Mexico, to Jose Garcia and Leonor Ortega Mendoza. He grew up and attended schools in Ranch Quemado, Qro, Mexico. Moises worked in agriculture as a migrant farmer picking fruit and working in a potato warehouse. He lived in California, New York, Florida, and finally Idaho.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Moises is survived by his mother, Leonor Garcia Mendoza; brother, Crisanto (Mirna) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Pedro (Christie) Garcia of Albion, NY; sister, Angela Garcia of Houston, TX; brother, Esteban (Elena) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Herminia (Eliseo) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID; and brother, Jose (Araceli) Garcia, Jr. of Qro, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Garcia, Sr.; sisters, Josefina Garcia and Caytana Garcia; and brother-in-law, Margrilo Vega.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Mesa Ward, 2349 Virlow Street, with Bishop Jared Taylor officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
