MITCHELL SEAMONS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mitchell Royce Seamons, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died of brain cancer on April 24, 2010. He was 22. Mitchell was born in American Fork, Utah, on August 29, 1987. He grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 2006. He then attended the Prep School at the United States Air Force Academy in 2007. After that, he attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and was a red shirt member of the basketball team at the time of his diagnosis in April of 2008. While undergoing treatment, Mitchell continued his education at Weber State University and was a recipient of the NiKell Woodland Scholarship, which is a scholarship for students with life-threatening and terminal illnesses. Mitchell was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed mountain biking, white water rafting, hiking, shooting guns, and climbing and rappelling, but his passion was basketball. He loved the game. He also loved the Pacific Ocean. Mitchell was kind and had a tender heart. He loved people. He was often mischievous, a prankster, and always the life of the party. Mitchell is survived by his father, Justin; his mother, Laurie (Bryant); his brother, Evan; his sister, McKenna; his sister, Elyssa; his paternal grandparents, Gary and Sharon Seamons; and his maternal grandparents, Ray and Peggy Dustin. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho. The family will meet with guests, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mitchell will be interred at the Ammon Cemetery.
