Milton LeRoy (“Skip” or “Ole”) Olson, 81, of Ammon, passed away September 13, 2015, at his home.
He was born December 13, 1933, in Cooperstown, North Dakota, to Melvin Maluis Olson and Eva Christine Johnson Olson. He grew up and attended schools in Cooperstown and graduated from Cooperstown High School.
Milt served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He later lived in Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, and Union City, California, before moving to Idaho Falls in 1972.
In 1965, he married Pat Crew and they divorced in 1984. He worked as a foreman at General Motors in California. After moving to Idaho Falls he was a farmer and rancher and worked as a pipefitter for Argonne. Following his retirement from Argonne, he worked as a trapper. He was a member of the Civitan Club and Trappers Association.
Milt was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing.

4 grandchildren: James Michael Johnson, Chelsey Marie Lamb, Dylan Hunter Olson, and Taylor Raine Olson
8 step-grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Milton Jr.; a daughter, Randi; four sisters, Eunice, Faye, Joyce, and Ethlynn; two brothers; and a step-granddaughter, Crystal.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 290 - 7th Street, with Pastor Ryan Barnes officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery next to his son. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
